How to maintain the sealing of Tin Pail?

Aug 01, 2025

1. Regular inspection
Appearance inspection: Regularly check whether there are signs of rust, deformation or damage on the surface of Tin Pail. If rust is found, it should be cleaned in time and anti-rust measures should be taken; if the deformation or damage is serious, it may affect the sealing performance and need to be replaced.
Seal inspection: Check whether the sealing parts such as sealing cover and sealing ring are intact. If the sealing ring is aged, deformed or damaged, it should be replaced in time to ensure the sealing effect.
2. Correct use
Opening and closing: When opening and closing Tin Pail, be gentle to avoid impact or damage to the seal. Make sure the sealing cover is completely closed, tighten the threads or buckle the buckle so that the seal can fit tightly.
Avoid collision: During transportation and use, avoid collision or drop of tin barrels with other hard objects. Collision may cause deformation of the barrel body or displacement of the seal, thereby destroying the sealing performance.
3. Storage environment
Temperature control: Store the tin barrel in an environment with suitable temperature, avoiding too high or too low temperature. Too high a temperature may cause the seal to age or deform, while too low a temperature may make the seal brittle and affect the sealing performance.
Humidity control: Keep the storage environment dry and avoid moisture. A humid environment may cause the tin barrel to rust, and rust will damage the integrity of the barrel and seals, thereby affecting the sealing performance.
Good ventilation: Ensure that the storage place is well ventilated to avoid the accumulation of harmful gases. Good ventilation can reduce the risk of seals aging or damage due to long-term exposure to harmful gases.
4. Cleaning and maintenance
Clean the barrel: Clean the surface of the tin barrel regularly to remove impurities such as dust and oil. These impurities may affect the fit between the seal and the barrel and reduce the sealing effect.
Maintain the seal: For some removable seals, such as sealing rings, they can be cleaned and lubricated regularly. Lubrication can reduce the friction between the seal and the barrel, extend its service life, and also help maintain the sealing performance.
5. Use appropriate sealing technology
Sealant: Applying an appropriate amount of sealant between the sealing cover and the barrel can enhance the sealing effect, especially when the seal is aged or damaged, the sealant can play a temporary sealing role.
Telescopic cover seal: For some tin barrels that need to be opened frequently, you can consider using telescopic cover sealing technology. The telescopic cover can shrink when opening and extend when closing, fitting tightly with the barrel body, effectively preventing leakage and external contaminants from entering.
