Method 1: Heat-shrink sealing with a used plastic bottle
Steps: Find a clean, used plastic bottle with a diameter slightly larger than the paint can's opening. Cut off the bottom and place it over the paint can. Use a heat gun or lighter to evenly heat the bottle. The plastic will quickly shrink and tightly seal the opening, creating a vacuum seal.
Advantages: Stronger seal than the original cap; leftover paint won't harden or dry out even after a year.
Method 2: Screwdriver snap-fit method
Steps: Use a screwdriver to press each snap-fit on the previously pried-open paint can back into its initial tight position. No additional materials are needed to restore a factory-grade seal.
Precautions: Do not use excessive force to avoid deforming the snap-fit and affecting future opening.
Method 3: Tape wrapping method
Steps: Use ordinary wide transparent tape to wrap around the seam between the cap and the can body 2-3 times to completely cover the gap, quickly preventing air from entering.
Advantages: Materials are readily available, making it suitable for temporary short-term storage of leftover paint.
