How to determine if a paint can is overpressurized?
Dec 10, 2025
Observe the pressure gauge pointer position:
1. Green zone: Indicates normal pressure, within the safe range.
2. Yellow zone: Indicates excessive pressure, indicating an overpressure state and a safety hazard, requiring immediate action.
3. Red zone: Indicates severely insufficient pressure or a possible malfunction of the pressure gauge.
Note: If the pointer vibrates violently or becomes stuck in the yellow zone, or if the dial is blurry or cracked, even if the pointer is not in the yellow zone, it indicates a potential problem with the pressure gauge or system, and it should be stopped and inspected immediately.
Listen for abnormal sounds:
1. If you hear a continuous hissing sound from the can or pipes, it may indicate a gas leak, which will cause an abnormal pressure drop.
2. If you hear an abnormal buzzing or airflow sound inside the can, it may mean that the pressure is undergoing abnormal changes.
Check valve status:
1. Sealing check: Check for signs of leakage at valve connections and ensure they are properly sealed. 2. Operational Flexibility: Test the valve to ensure smooth operation without jamming or corrosion. Failure to close or open the valve properly may lead to uncontrolled pressure.
Other Precautions:
1. Regular Inspection: It is recommended to calibrate and inspect the pressure gauge regularly to ensure its accuracy.
2. Environmental Factors: Avoid placing paint cans in high-temperature environments or direct sunlight, as this may cause the internal pressure to rise.
