What is the safety distance of Engine Oil Tin Can?
Mar 05, 2025
1. Safety distance from open flames or sparks
The safety distance between the oil tank and the open flame or sparks should not be less than 18 meters.
2. Safety distance from outdoor substations
The safety distance between the oil tank and the outdoor substation should not be less than 18 meters.
3. Safety distance from overhead power lines
Overhead power lines should not cross the oil tank, and the safety distance from the oil tank should not be less than 5 meters.
4. Safety distance from construction sites, residential areas and other facilities
The safety distance from construction sites, residential areas and public buildings is not less than 12 meters.
The safety distance from railway lines is not less than 22 meters.
The safety distance from urban secondary roads, branch roads and construction access roads is not less than 6 meters.
The safety distance from national first and second level overhead communication lines is not less than 40 meters.
The safety distance from overhead communication lines is not less than 5 meters.
The safety distance from blasting sites is not less than 300 meters.
5. Safe distance between tanks
According to the "Petroleum Depot Design Code" (GB50074-2014), the distance between tanks should be determined according to the type and capacity of the tanks, generally 1/4 of the sum of the diameters of adjacent tanks (0.5D for tanks of the same specification).
For floating roof tanks with a diameter less than or equal to 45 meters, the recommended tank distance is 10 meters; for floating roof tanks with a diameter greater than 45 meters, the recommended tank distance is 15 meters.
6. Other requirements
The tank should be equipped with a liquid level monitoring system with a high liquid level alarm function, and the liquid level monitoring system of a single-layer oil tank should have a leakage detection function.
The vent pipe of the tank should be led out of the tank room, and a flame arrester should be installed at the pipe.
