I. Strict Control of Operating Parameters

1. Temperature Limit: The ambient temperature for storing strong alkaline solutions must be ≤100℃. Overheating is strictly prohibited. The higher the temperature, the exponentially greater the corrosion rate of the glass enamel layer by strong alkali.

2. Concentration Limit: Only dilute weak alkaline solutions with a pH value ≤12 can be stored. Direct storage of concentrated strong alkaline solutions with a pH >12 is prohibited to avoid rapid corrosion of the enamel layer.

3. Media Compatibility: Confirm in advance that the strong alkaline solution contains no fluoride ions, high-concentration phosphoric acid, or other additional highly corrosive impurities; otherwise, it will significantly exacerbate tank corrosion and damage.

II. Tank Body Protection and Modification

1. Prioritize the use of F-type tanks with a high-alkali-resistant special glass enamel glaze. Ordinary standard glass enamel tanks have only 1/3 the alkali resistance of the special model and are not suitable for long-term alkali storage.

2. All pipes and stirring components that come into contact with the alkaline solution inside the tank must be additionally lined with PTFE for corrosion protection to prevent metal parts from being corroded and failing by the alkaline solution.

3. The ground and foundation surrounding the tank should undergo complete alkali-resistant anti-corrosion treatment, and a leak-proof dike should be installed to prevent corrosion of surrounding facilities due to alkali leakage.

III. Operation and Daily Maintenance Details

1. It is strictly forbidden to directly inject high-temperature concentrated alkali solution into the tank. When preparing the solution, the dilution principle of "alkali into water" must be strictly followed to avoid sudden local temperature increases that could corrode the enamel layer.

2. Establish a dedicated inspection log. Perform spark testing on the glass enamel layer inside the tank weekly, and take samples every 3 months to test the iron ion content in the alkali solution to indirectly determine the corrosion rate of the enamel layer.

3. The storage period for strong alkali solutions should not exceed 7 days. Prolonged stagnation will accelerate the alkali corrosion of the local enamel layer. After use, the tank should be rinsed with clean water immediately to remove any residual alkali.

IV. Emergency and Compliance Management

1. The storage area must be equipped with sufficient boric acid neutralization emergency supplies. In case of skin contact with alkali solution, immediately rinse with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes, then neutralize with boric acid solution.

2. Strictly implement a dual-person receiving and dispatching system and a dual-person custody system, with full registration and record-keeping for all inbound and outbound processes, complying with the storage requirements for corrosive hazardous chemicals.

3. Install static electricity discharge devices at the tank area entrance, along with explosion-proof electrical equipment, to prevent flammable droplets from evaporating alkali solutions from causing safety hazards.
