Considering the performance of the primer for packaging iron drums, it must not only have high rust resistance, but also ensure the beautiful decorative features of the topcoat. Diphenylguanidine chromate and zinc phosphate are used as anti-rust pigments.
Zinc phosphate itself is a hydrate and has the ability to form a complex. This complex can further complex with the polar groups (meridian and carboxyl) of the paint to form a stable cross-linked complex. It enhances the water resistance and adhesion of the paint film, and can also form a complex with Fe to prevent the formation and development of rust.
Diphenylguanidine chromate is one of the strongest anti-rust pigments and is used in conjunction with zinc phosphate. Its anti-rust effect is better.
In terms of coloring pigments, the main consideration is to choose pigments with strong light fastness and high tinting power, so that even when the pigment volume concentration (PVC) in the formula is low, the hiding power of the paint film will not be affected, and It is helpful to ensure the gloss of packaging iron drums.
