How often should Engine Oil Tin Can be changed?

Engine Oil Type and Replacement Cycle
1. Mineral Oil: Recommended replacement every 5000 km or 6 months. This type of oil is cheaper, but its performance and lifespan are relatively shorter.
2. Semi-synthetic Oil: Recommended replacement every 7500 km or 9 months. It offers improved performance and lifespan compared to mineral oil.
3. Fully Synthetic Oil: Recommended replacement every 10000 to 15000 km or 1 year. Fully synthetic oil has a longer lifespan and better lubrication.
Other Factors Affecting Replacement Cycle
1. Vehicle Usage: If the vehicle is frequently driven short distances (less than 5 km one way) or experiences frequent traffic jams, the engine temperature may not reach its optimal level, and the oil may accumulate moisture and impurities. In such cases, it is recommended to shorten the replacement cycle.
2. Driving Environment: In dusty or extreme climates (such as extremely cold or hot weather), engine oil may become contaminated or its performance may deteriorate, requiring more frequent checks or changes.
3. Time Factor: Even if the mileage has not reached the standard, it is recommended to change the engine oil if it has exceeded its shelf life (usually 1 to 2 years) or if the vehicle has been parked for more than 3 months.
How to Determine if an Oil Change is Needed
1. Observe the Oil Color: If the engine oil has turned black, it may have lost its protective properties and needs to be changed.
2. Check the Dipstick: If metal shavings are found on the dipstick, it may indicate internal engine wear, requiring immediate inspection and oil change.
